Whatever your reason, sign up now for Walk to Tuk! Walk to Tuk starts January 3, 2017. What is Walk to Tuk? Glad you asked! Walk to Tuk is where people from all over the NWT form teams and together conceptually walk the distance of the Mackenzie River from Fort Providence to Tuktoyaktuk. That means that you try to walk as often as you can! How do I Participate? Each time you head out for a winter stroll you track the time you spend walking and add it to your team’s total.As your total adds up you can follow your team’s progress along the Mackenzie River on our website with our handy Walk to Tuk map.If you walk long enough between January 3 and February 28, 2017 then you’ve made it to Tuk (1658km)!

Comparing Kayaks

Eric McNair-Landry, northern adventurer and kayak-builder and Myrna Pokiak, Inuvialuit artist and educator, will present on skin boats from the Eastern and Western Arctic. Learn a traditional paddle dance and help to assembly a half scale model of a kayak in the PWNHC auditorium. All ages • 2:00 to 4:00pm • Bilingual Pour tous les âges • 14h è 16h bilingue Eric McNair-Landry, aventurier du Nord et fabricant de kayaks, et Myrna Pokiak, artiste inuvialuite et éducatrice culturelle, feront une présentation sur les embarcations en peaux fabriquées en Arctique de l’Est et de l’Ouest.
